A New Chapter for Ryan Sellars Photography: Now Offering Drone Videography & Aerial Photography 🚁✨

I’m excited to share some big news—I recently passed my FAA Part 107 exam and will officially receive my drone certification soon! This opens up an entirely new side of Ryan Sellars Photography, one that I’ve been dreaming about expanding into for a while: professional drone videography and aerial photography.

As many of you know, I’ve always loved capturing moments from unique angles—Friday night lights, wrestling action shots, senior sessions, and family portraits. Adding aerial capabilities takes that creativity to a whole new level. With the combination of high-quality equipment and the training that comes with Part 107 certification, I can now safely and legally offer drone services for clients across Cabarrus County and the surrounding communities.

Why Drone Photography? A New Way to Tell Your Story

Drones allow us to capture scenes from a cinematic perspective. Whether it's soaring above a property, gliding over a neighborhood, or creating smooth, sweeping motions that traditional photography can’t match, aerial footage adds an entirely new dimension to storytelling.

I’ve already been practicing by filming local fall colors, neighborhood scenery, and personal home videos—and the results have been amazing. The drone brings a fresh, dynamic view that elevates both simple moments and professional projects alike.

Expanding Into Real Estate Drone Services 🏡

One of my biggest goals with this new certification is to support real estate agents and homeowners with:

  • High-quality aerial photos
  • Cinematic flyover videos
  • Property line overlays
  • Neighborhood and community footage
  • Lot and land visualization

Aerial media can be a game-changer for listings, helping homes stand out instantly online. Potential buyers get a better feel for the property, views, layout, and surrounding area. It’s a perfect pairing with traditional real estate photography and can significantly boost listing engagement.

Partnering With Home Inspectors 🛠️

I’m also looking to connect with home inspectors who need a safe, efficient way to capture hard-to-reach areas such as:

  • Roof angles
  • Chimneys
  • Gutters
  • Exterior wear and weathering
  • Large or steep properties

Drone inspections allow inspectors to work more safely and get more detailed footage without climbing ladders or risking injury. It’s a powerful tool to add to their reports and give homeowners peace of mind.

Practice Makes Perfect—And Fun

Outside of professional work, I’m planning to keep filming local scenery, family outings, and small personal projects to continue sharpening my flying skills. Every flight teaches something new, and the more time I spend behind the controller, the better the final results will be for clients.

What’s Next?

As soon as my official Part 107 certification arrives, I’ll begin booking drone projects. If you’re a real estate agent, home inspector, builder, contractor, or homeowner, I’d love to connect and help showcase your property from a whole new angle.

For now, feel free to reach out with questions or ideas. I’m excited to bring this new service to the community and continue growing Ryan Sellars Photography in a way that blends creativity, technology, and storytelling.
