For the last few months, you may have noticed that Ryan Sellars Photography has been unusually quiet on social media.

No game-day galleries. No behind-the-scenes posts. No senior session sneak peeks. No endless scrolling through algorithms trying to figure out what content would perform best.

And honestly? It was exactly what I needed.

As photographers and small business owners, it's easy to feel like we have to constantly be creating, posting, sharing, and staying visible. Social media can be an incredible tool for connecting with clients and showcasing our work, but it can also become overwhelming when it starts feeling more like an obligation than a passion.

Over the past few months, I made a conscious decision to step back.

That time away allowed me to focus on what matters most: my family, my career, my personal well-being, and the people right in front of my camera. Instead of worrying about likes, shares, and engagement numbers, I focused on creating meaningful images and enjoying the moments I was capturing.

One of those moments was another successful season of middle school sports portraits.

This spring, I had the opportunity to photograph athletes from multiple sports at Roberta Road

Middle School. From volleyball and soccer to baseball and track, it was a privilege to work with these student-athletes and help preserve memories from their seasons.

There's something special about middle school sports. These athletes are learning teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and confidence. Some are just beginning their athletic journey, while others are already developing skills that will carry them into high school and beyond. Being able to provide portraits that families will look back on years from now is something I never take for granted.

The support from coaches, parents, administrators, and athletes continues to mean a great deal to me. Every season brings new faces, new stories, and new opportunities to serve our local community.

As I begin becoming more active again, my goal isn't to return to posting simply for the sake of posting. Instead, I want to share more intentionally—highlighting the people, stories, and moments that make photography meaningful.

Sometimes stepping away gives us the perspective we need to appreciate why we started in the first place.

Photography has always been about people.

Not algorithms.

Not follower counts.

Not trends.

People.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support Ryan Sellars Photography during the quiet season. Your encouragement, referrals, bookings, and trust have never gone unnoticed.

I'm looking forward to sharing more stories, more portraits, and more memories in the months ahead.

And to all of the athletes, parents, and coaches from this year's middle school sports portrait season—thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your journey.

See you on the sidelines.
