As winter sports wrap up and the mats are rolled away for the season, I can’t help but feel a little bittersweet about saying goodbye to wrestling photography for the year. It has been an incredible experience capturing the intensity, grit, and triumph of the athletes on the mat. I’ll definitely be counting down the days until next winter when wrestling returns!

But as one season ends, another begins—and spring sports bring a fresh energy to capture. High school soccer is in full swing, and I’m looking forward to being out on the field, freezing those split-second moments of determination, teamwork, and celebration. Baseball is another sport I’m hoping to cover this season, with its mix of quiet anticipation and explosive action making for some amazing shots.

Beyond sports, spring and summer are also perfect for senior photos and portrait sessions. With graduation right around the corner, now is the time for high school seniors to schedule their milestone sessions. Whether it’s classic cap-and-gown portraits, relaxed outdoor shoots, or creative sports-themed sessions, I want to help capture this special moment before they step into their next chapter.

Growing Ryan Sellars Photography

Building a business is just like building a great sports team—it takes strategy, consistency, and a strong game plan. This season, I’m focused on getting my business in front of more potential clients and expanding my reach in the community. Here’s my game plan for growth:

Networking with coaches, parents, and athletic directors – Connecting directly with those involved in high school athletics will help get my name out there for both action shots and individual player sessions.

Leveraging social media and digital marketing – I’ll be posting more content, running targeted promotions, and showcasing recent work to reach a wider audience. Follow me on social media to stay updated!

Exploring partnerships with local businesses – Teaming up with local sports leagues, schools, and businesses can help spread the word about my services.

Offering referral incentives – Word-of-mouth is powerful! I’ll be launching a referral program where past clients can earn discounts for referring friends and family.

Booking spring and summer portrait sessions early – Senior sessions, sports portraits, and family sessions tend to fill up fast, so I’m encouraging clients to book in advance.
